STRATEGY 2.0

Update of the Urban Development Concept Berlin 2030
In autumn 2014 the Berlin Senate passed the BerlinStrategy | Urban Development Concept Berlin 2030. It defines the qualities, strategies and areas of action for citywide development. In addition it identifies transformational spaces in which planning needs are currently poorly met, developmental potential is to be concentrated, and where in coming years resources are to be pooled.
Faced with the particular challenges resulting from Berlin’s dynamic growth, and in acknowledgement of the need to create a sound framework for integration and an open urban society, the BerlinStrategy was already updated in 2016. In doing so, an emphasis was placed on the issues of space to live, space to work and on integration/an open urban society.
Urban Catalyst provided support to the Senate Department for Urban Development and the Environmentin elaborating the updating of the BerlinStrategy. In addition, the coordination process leading to the BerlinStrategie 2.0 was conceived and realised together with the city administration, public experts and the general public.
